A question for AV catalogers

Greetings, all! As we prepare for our initial collection of DVD's, we are
struggling with the GMD (general material designation - it appears after
every title/item in our database - except for books and serials). The
current GMD, "videorecording," is not an exact fit for DVD (but is no worse
than our use of "sound recording" for both cassettes and CD's). To our
knowledge, there is no GMD specifically for DVD. However, we have not
received our new edition of AACR2e, so there *may* be one in there. Does
anyone out there know for sure, or, if not, how are *you* designating
DVD's in your catalog?

Thanks for any ideas or input you can contribute!
