Bravo, Facets! I think Milos is absolutely right. Censorship is not only
governmental suppression of ideas, it is also the drip, drip, drip of individual
companies, individual libraries, and individuals themselves who wish to
suppress the free flow of ideas (and images) to others. I applaud the courage
in saying no to censorship and, as a librarian, feel duty-bound to support
Facets' stand against censorious labs. From a business point of view I am
hopeful that Allied and Facets can see the good economic sense in resisting
inclinations to censor. But being silent about attempts at censorship will
surely encourage more inclinations in the future.
