Guess it's time for clarification. First of all, I think there's a big
difference between spam and
focussed marketing. Cambridge, Creative Arts, and Landmark are all regular
participants in
the videolib and videonews lists, and we welcome their continued
participation and support (as well as that of other video distributors and
producers). The point which needs to be made is that
unsolicited announcements for new products should only be posted on
VIDEONEWS. Responses to specific inquiries on VIDEOLIB, however, are fair
game, in my opintion (e.g. "We're looking for
videos on left handed widgets," to which a distributor replies: "We have
an award winning video entitled "The Widget Factor.")

I don't recall any of the folks you mention breeching this policy...
