Videos on slavery

Okay, I'm going the lazy person's route here. I could--and still may have to, of
course--do a search myself, but you all are so knowledgable that I thought I'd just
check here first. A faculty member is interested in finding a "documentary"
on slavery in the U.S. While I suspect documentary isn't exactly the right word,
he wants to avoid a work of fiction or even a dramatization of a factual event, such
as the recent "Amistad." What he is hoping to find is a video which addresses
typical conditions which slaves faced in the U.S. (any time post-Revolutionary War
would do). I know, I know--there may not have been any one "typical" situation--but
I'm passing this request along in the manner in which it was presented to me!

Do any of you have any recommendations for us? Thanks!
Susan
