Hi gang:

I'm cross-posting this notice on videolib and a few other lists, Apologies
for any duplicates. Hope you can join us...

Hello Film Friends!

Hard to believe that ALA annual is just a couple of weeks down the road,
no? The ACRL Film and Broadcast Discussion Group will be meeting on
Sunday June 28th from 2 to 4 (still don't know the location...). I hope
you all can join us (and bring a friend or colleague).

What I hope to happen at our discussion is a sharing of favorite film and
broadcast web sites. If the gods of technology (and ALA bureaucracy) are
willing, we'll have a machine and network connection available to show
these sites off (if it all falls through, we'll have a strong lightbulb
available with which to show handshadows on a wall).

I'm preparing a list of some of my fave sites, which I'll distribute at
the meeting. I hope you can come and show us whatever new and cool
resources you've tuned into... One thing which I think might be fun to do
is to have a "shoot off" between the Internet Movie Database
(www.usimdb.com) and recent contenders, such as the All Movie Guide
(AllMovie.com). We can try to stump the databases with the obscure and
weird...

Think it should be fun and edifying. Hope you can join us!
