Guidelines for Media Resources in Academic Libraries

The draft Guidelines have been published in the May issue of _C&RL News_.
They are also available online at the ALA Web site. The URL is
http://www.ala.org/acrl/guides/medresg.html. Thanks to all of you who
sent me comments on the Guidelines. I incorporated many of your
suggestions into the published revision.

There will be a hearing on the Guidelines at tht ALA Annual Conference in
Washington, D.C. I invite all of you to attend the hearing:

Sunday, June 28, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m., Capital Hilton, Congress/Senate Rooms

If you will not be at the Conference or you will be unable to attend the
hearing, please feel free to send me your comments via email. My email
address is linked from the online version of the Guidelines. Following
the hearing, we will revise the Guidelines and forward them to the ACRL
Standards and Accreditation Committee for final approval. The members of
the ACRL Media Resources Committee hope to conclude the approval process
for the Guidelines at Midwinter 1999. Thanks for your help!
