Amazon.com has acquired three Internet businesses: the Internet Movie
Database, which it plans to use as its initial entry point into online
video
sales, and European book retailers Bookpages and Telebook, which it
will use
to crack the European book market. Last week, the company announced
it was
developing an online music store to meet the demand for compact disks.
