The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Media Resources
Committee has drafted new "Guidelines for Media Resources in Academic
Libraries." As part of the review process, we are soliciting your
comments. The document will also be published in _C&RL News_ this spring,
prior to a hearing at the Annual Conference of the American Library
Association in Washington, D.C., June 26-30, 1998. If you will be
attending the conference, I urge you to attend the hearing.
The Guidelines are available on the Web:
<http://www.indiana.edu/~libreser/mrc-guide.html>. Please email your
comments to Kristine Brancolini (firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than March
The previous ACRL "Guidelines for Audiovisual Services in Academic
Libraries" were adopted in 1987. We urgently need new guidelines that
reflect media collections and services in academic libraries today.
Thank you for your assistance in this process.
Kristine Brancolini, Chair
ACRL Media Resources Committee
