cd-rom selection policy

hi -
i think we may have discussed this in the past, so pardon the
redundancy, but what is your selection policy with regard to CD-Roms?

our faculty is beginning to buy more and more stuff i.e. encyclopedia of
"whatever" on cd-rom, and our reference dept. has stated that they have
no room and no interest in purchasing much of this stuff. So, it falls
to the Media Dept. to purchase it - we only have one pc to run the
items. we have been installing the programs to minimize staff and
patron installation time and effort, but obviously as the items increase,
we will not be able to do that.

anyways, i would be interested in knowing if you limit your faculty's
selection when it comes to cd-roms, or if you just buy everything no matter
the platform, no matter whether it is Reference material...?

thanks for any input
