If nobody's mentioned this already, Lillian Gish was very vocal about how
close to death and frostbite she came filming the ice floe scene in D.W.
Griffith's silent classic, "Way Down East." I'm sure she mentions this in her
autobiography (which mentions Griffith in the title, I believe). She was one
tough little lady.
