What a fun question.
Two bleak images of librarians come to mind: The unmarried Mary in IT'S
A WONDERFUL LIFE ends up as a spinster librarian. Another rather dark
vision of librarians is featured in the film THE ATTIC starring Carry
Snodgrass as a spinster librarian who's fiancee mysteriously
disappeared on her wedding day.
On a lighter note Goldie Hawn in FOUL PLAY is a very resourceful (and
athletic) librarian.
