The Pennsylvania State University Libraries invites applications for the
position of Manager, Audio Visual Services which houses a comprehensive
collection of more than 21,500 educational films and videotapes available
for classroom instruction and maintains a complete line of audio/visual
This position is responsible for the management, long-range and strategic
planning and development of university-wide audio/visual services. The
successful candidate will provide leadership for developing electronic
media resources and presentation of interactive multimedia technologies in
the classroom, including participating in the design of appropriate
classroom environments. The manager will hire, supervise and develop all
AV professional staff and oversee administration of university-union
agreement; develop and recommend departmental budgets; participate on
university and library committees.
REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in media management, instructional
technology development and presentation, or related area, with 3 to 5 years
of work-related experience in the management of media programs in higher
education including experience with university-union agreements; a service
oriented work style, strong interpersonal skills, a demonstrated commitment
to open decision-making and a consultative management style; an ability to
articulate and promote a vision regarding how emerging technologies can be
applied to the instructional and research missions of a modern university.
