> Here's another interesting phenomenon. Melding Music Librarian and Media
> Librarian. What's the connection?
Why would someone
> who is a music librarian be able to manage the overall media operation?
> How many media librarians just happen to be music librarians too? Or even
Kris: The University of Victoria in British Columbia has combined the
two positions. In many Faculties of Music or Music Departments, the
listening stations had/have extensive media equipment: turntables,
& CD's for example, to support the music programs.
So, it isn't as far-fetched as you might think.
Within the last two years the Univ. of British Columbia posted a position
for Music Cataloguer and they wanted s.one with both an undergrad or
masters' degree in Music and an M.L.S.
There were scores of applicants (pun intended).
See you in Berekely!,
