French Film and Tarkovsky

A visiting professor here is trying to find two films. The first
question is the kind of thing you all do best. He doesn't know the title
of the film. It is French, from the late 1960s or early 1970s. He
thought the director is Truffaut, but that seems to be wrong. The
film is about a boy, who is about 11-years-old, and the victim of abuse.
There's a scene where he flees his trailer home on the outskirts of Paris.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

The second question is a little more straightforward. He is trying to
find a videorecording of a 1983 Tarkovsky film, _Nostalghia_
(_Nostalgia_). Three versions are in OCLC, but I can't find it listed
for sale in any of the reference books. The film is a joint
Italian/Russian production and it appears to have been released in both
languages. We could use it in either Italian or Russian, with or without
subtitles. Does anyone know about U.S. availability of this film? Thanks...
