I submit that the grand old term "audiovisual" also encompasses
all media. In fact, "AV" is simple, short, and snappy as a term.
Looks great as a Webpage logo. Easier to place in a monogram design.
The corporate world prefers AV to media.

And, compare the two terms in real-world conversation:

"Pick up your videodisc at the Media Center."

or

"Pick up your videodisc at AV."

So, I vote for AV--but then I am used to being
run over by a steamroller.
