Shirley--

We've been buying Russ Bassett cabinets for the last 10 years, with fairly
good results. The cabinets are 9 drawer lateral files with wire inserts which
hold standard VHS boxes (you can't mix sizes, unfortunately). Each cabinet
holds around 550 tapes and retails for around $1,100 (you can usually get
em' cheaper by going thru a buying coop). The units are fairly compact
and fairly sturdy. The units have knock-outs into which locks can be
installed if you need them. You can reach RB at 800-350-2445.

They also make a verrrrry nifty (and costy) compact shelving unit--an
unusual-looing gizmo that pull out laterally across an overhead track.
