ALA-VRT Midwinter Meeting

All videolibbers who are also ALA-Video Round Table members should be
receiving your winter newsletters this week. I have a clarification of
the short list of events that are to occur at the ALA Midwinter
conference (front page). By referring to the Friday night dinner as an
"Executive Board Dinner" I have unintentionally made the event sound like
some stuffy business affair restricted to high muckety mucks. The truth
is it is open to all members. The only catch is I need to know how many
people will be attending to insure we have enough space reserved. So if
you could email me that you plan to attend, I will appreciate it - no
later than Jan. 30, please.

If you haven't received the newsletter yet (or are interested in joining
VRT) the dinner is going to be held Friday, Feb. 14, 7:00pm at City
Lights of China, 1731 Connecticut Ave. NW in Washington DC (Dupont
Circle).
- From the Convention Center walk to the Metro Center station
(12th and G)
- take the Red Line Metro in the Shady Grove direction. Its just a few
stops to the Dupont Circle station - get off there.
- Connecticut Avenue is the busy street right next to the escalator exit
from the Dupont Circle station. City Lights of China is a couple
blocks uphill - to your left as you face Connecticut. The restaurant
has a sign on the sidewalk and is located beneath street level so look
for the stairwell.
