I am not absolutely sure this would fall under fair use,since presumably
the book is being sold. In general all the major studios charge for
reproductions. Some publishers require clearence and others do not. The
safest thing is to use publicity stills put out by the distributor at the
time of release. Unfortunately this may not be the image your guy wants. I
have never heard of a publisher being sued over stills. If his publisher
does not require the stills, I would risk it. good luck
