Hello everyone! Thanks to everyone who contributed to the fascinating
"Price Gouging or Good Business?" discussion. I now have a question
about a service being advertised by Karol Video. We are considering
joining their Public Library Free Video Network and would like to
hear from any other libraries that are taking part in this program.
>From what we understand different "sponsors" donate videos to Karol
for the program that are then distributed free of charge to public
libraries in the Network. Any tapes that the library doesn't want
to keep can be sent back to Karol (at the library's expense.) We
would like to know in general if this is a worthwhile program and
more specifically if these free videos are of a consistently high
quality and show balance in their treatment of the subjects. One
concern we have is that the point of view of these videos may be
strongly slanted toward that of the "sponsor." TIA for any insight/
advice you can provide regarding this program.
