I think you're right on a number of counts--the edge between indie and home
video has continued to fuzz out over the years...I also think that there's
a substantial (a majority) amount of indie works which will never be grist for
the home market mill--it's mainly that kinda stuff I'm worried about. Roger
and Me is one thing; a film about Hmong shamanism is another. I wish there
were some way for buyers and sellers to hammer the "all over the map" syndrome
out... As much as I've been committed to VRT as a moving force in things
video-ish, I'm feeling pretty unoptomistic about ALA as a national moving
force in promoting change or dialogue in these areas. Tim Gunn, Tania Blanich
(NVR) are you out there listening to these discussions?
