interfiling videos

I am interested in hearing from librarians with experience interfiling
videos (especially in public libraries)--either shelving all materials on
a subject together or grouping videos by disciplines somehow to allow
browsing print and video items in close proximity. Are any of your
collections set up this way? If anyone has tried it, what about
interfiling worked well (and what didn't work so well)? I'd appreciate
hearing from any of you who have experience with (or opinions about) this.

Thanks,
