Karen, I cant offer advice on policy as what works in an institution
like ours wouldnt work for you. But, in my experience, most "broken"
videotapes can be fixed. We are lucky in that we have a technician
who does it but it would be worth your while to see if you can find
someone in the community who is able to splice tape and take cassettes
apart and so on. Even if you have to pay, it is a lot cheaper than
replacing the video. Also, always check videos on your own machine.
a lot of the complaints that things "dont work" is due to faults in
the borrowers equipment. Good luck, Rose
