A couple of people have written about the MPLC. In the Nov./Dec. issue of
Video Librarian I wrote an editorial ("MPLC Cast as Modern Day Scrooge")
about their so-called "blanket licenses." Several years ago, I wrote a
longer article about the MPLC called "Fatal Contraption: The Public
Performance Rights Issue." They threatened to sue the publication, but
nothing ever came of it. If anyone would like copies of the editorial
and article, please e-mail me with an address, and I'll be happy to mail
you copies.
