Multimedia collection development

Would any academic media librarians out there care to mention some
of the interactive multimedia cd-roms you have purchased for your
collections that are actually receiving regular use? We have a few
here at The American University Library along with computers to
run them but they are, by and large, treated as novelties unless
required for classes. A problem I have had with most available titles
is that the content is too superficial for serious use college-level
students. I hope someone out there has had some experiences more
encouraging than ours.
