I'd say that the fact that these were taken off-air rather than purchased
initially would make it pretty dangerous to add to the collection. I'd
recommend against it. If you have a purchased copy of a crumbling OP
title, on the other hand, and you make a concerted (and documented)
effort to buy a replacement, the current word from copyright guru Ivan
Bender is that you'd probably (probably!) be on ok ground to copy the
item and stick it in the collection.
