Perhaps it would be worth putting an ad in Video Librarian. And if he is
selling himself, please be flexible in how libraries can purchase. More
and more of us are using a credit card, but many still must issue a
purchase order.

Subject: [Videolib] Help for an Indie Filmmaker

Hello,

I have a friend who has produced two successful microbudget indie
films.
They did the rounds of several small festivals. Won a few awards. How
could he best get his DVD onto library shelves? Does the direct mailing
postcard thing work? Is there a good trade journal that might give them
a
positive review? Advertising somewhere?

Trust your collective wisdom...

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of
issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic
control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in
libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve
as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel
of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video
producers and distributors.
