Oofta Chuck! Took me some time, but with the help of our brilliant
maps librarian, Kristi Jensen, I found some public domain images for
your student's project (at the West Point History Department no less -
should have thought of it!)

These were digitized from atlases published by the United States
Defense Printing Agency, so they should be public domain.
