actually there was a depressing article recently which quoted the WONDERFUL
George Feltenstein of WB that all the studios would retrench on older
titles and alas I don't think any other studio will follow the WB model
because they don't have a person like George pushing it. As one example Sony
mastered material for a Charlie Chase set ( the talkies) but has now
postponed them indefinitely as again they don't think this " old stuff "
sells though on the plus side they are going to do a Sam Fuller set.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
