Hi Guyz...
I'm looking for this documentary on either DVD or VHS. Can
anyone point
me to a distributor??
In the Name of the Emperor (1995)
A documentary on the Rape of Nanjing which took place in 1937
when
Japanese Imperial troops invaded Nanjing (aka Nanking) then the
capital
of China. Survivors of the massacre estimate that about 300,000
were
killed and 20,000 women were raped and killed in the first six
weeks of
the Japanese occupation. Because of these rampant rapes and the
alarming
spread of veneral diseases among the soldiers, the Japanese
government
began the systematic operation of the now-infamous "comfort
stations",
forcing women to serve in military brothels. By the end of the
war, an
estimated 200,000 women, mostly Koreans, had been shipped as
"war
supplies" to serve as "comfort women" in Japanese military
stations all
across the occupied territories, from Manchuria to New Guinea.
