Hello everyone -

I searched the archives of this list, but I didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I was hoping that you could share insight about VHD-to-DVD conversion policies for your university libraries' collections. We are looking to craft one here, and would love to know how other institutions have handled this, particularly with titles that are not available for purchase on DVD. Also, after you created such a policy, did you have university legal counsel review it?

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
