[Videolib] DMCA comments - Last Call

Mon, 3 Nov 2008 14:21:29 -0800 (PST)

Hi all:

I've been in contact with Robert Kasunic, Principal Legal Advisor at the
US Copyright Office, who tells me that the form for comments submission re
DMCA circumvention exceptions will be available by tomorrow.

I'd like to wing in our comments/signatures by the end of this week.
Soooo...if you have not already signed your support, now's your last

We currently have 84 signatures--we could use lots more.

Public hearings will be held early next year on both coasts, and I'm
working on getting the California hearings held Berkeley...which would be
verrry cool!

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
