Ciara, Judy, Folks:

We looked into accessing NewsFilm Online and received the following
from one of their representatives: "full access is actualy restricted
to users at UK colleges and universities." He did suggest looking @
http://archives.cbc.ca/ -- as a different, open model -- and http://
www.gorbould.com/blog/index.php/2008/09/this-was-england/ . I wish
NARA had gone this route rather than partnering with Amazon to
distribute their films: http://tinyurl.com/634jp4

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
