As already mentioned, not really okay.
I wasn't sure if by "not available" you meant never released on video or me=
rely out-of-print. If oop, you should try to borrow (through ILL or a vide=
ostore) or track down a secondhand copy to buy. But, if they are truly not=
available on video, you can choose to make a judgment call on whether or n=
ot to go ahead.

Subject: [Videolib] Copies of Videos for reserve
Greetings Everyone,
This is my first post to the list, so I apologize if I am asking a very bas=
ic question.
We recently had an instructor bring us a couple videos in VHS format. One i=
s a copy of a hallmark channel movie from the 80s and the other is a copy o=
f a feature film from the 80s. She would like these placed on traditional i=
n-house reserve that would be available to students for in room use during =
the spring semester. Our preliminary research shows that these are not avai=
lable for purchase.
What do I need to consider when determining if these can be placed on reser=
ve? Is it the four factors that I consider for our traditional paper-based =
reserve items and/or something else?
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Pauline
