We'd like to use a portion of "Pumping iron II: the women" (1985)
for a women's studies course here in Calgary, Canada.
I can't find a current distributor, tho a DVD edition seems to
have been distributed by Central Park Media, NY (an anime house) in the
recent past.

The original theatrical distributor was Cinecom, which looks like
it expired in the early 1990's.

I'm trying to contact the director, George Butler, who may hold
the rights or know who does. I've had to leave a message with his talent
agent at the Endeavor Agency.
Can anyone recommend another route to take in gaining public
peformance rights to this title? I'd like to approach this problem from
several angles at once.

Thanks.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
