Some information about "Trudell" from "The Visionmaker" Fall / Winter
"Featured on PBS Independent Lens on April 11, 2006, this program
follows the life work of Native American poet/activist John
Trudell--from the occupation of Alcatraz to the devastating death of his
family--an event that ultimately ended his political activism and
sparked a rebirth through poetry and music. Filmmaker Heather Rae uses
a poetic and cinema verite style to chronicle Trudell's life. She
traces his travels, weaving archive footage from the late 1960s and
1970s with concert and interview footage. This film challenges
traditional documentary form, and meshes fable and fact, stylistically
mirroring the coyote nature of Trudell himself. Produced by Heather Rae

Subject: [Videolib] looking for distributor
I have a faculty request for a film called "Trudell." The website
mentions multiple contacts for various reasons. It says DVD copies are
available from Appaloosa Pictures, but Educational video copies are from
Visionmaker Video (at Univ. of Nebraska, Lincoln). I have tried to
contact the latter but have received no response. I need to get them
into our vendor file before I can order a copy.=20
Is anyone aware of another source? Or does anyone know anyone at
Visionmaker? Should I give up and try Appaloosa? Someone else entirely
handles "bookings"--Balcony Releasing. And for "more information" I can
contact yet another website--bigbuckreleasing.com!
This is a perfect example of the frustrations we librarians have in
dealing with the industry.
