We are trying to purchase the following Edison silent films:

A Pageant of East Indian Princeseses
Traders of the East Indian Empire
Viceroy of India's Royal Levee
Loading Cattle in India
The Assembly in the Indian Village
Procession of Giant Elephants
Hindoo Street Scene

Hindoo Fakir

The last, Hindoo Fakir, was available from KLM Video in Bethesda, MA., in
1997. Can't find a current listing for the company now.

The first seven are more elusive. Do they comprise the film "Curious
Scenes in India," a film that was perhaps released in 1917?

And what is the "Edison Catalog," the full contents of which are
apparently available through the for-pay subscription IMDB? The Edison
Catalog may have more info on at least some of these films.

Thanks for your collective help,

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
