Hi all

This is one of my periodic reminders about the fact that there are TWO
video librarian listservs you can subscribe to.

VIDEOLIB (which you're viewing now if you're getting this message) is a
discussion forum for video librarians, educators, film makers,
distributors, and others interested in the collection, preservation, and
delivery of video content in libraries and similar institutions.

VIDEONEWS is a (freeeee!) bulletin board for new products and services
related to video and film. A great place for distributors and filmmakers
to announce new stuff. It has been my experience that the amount of
correspondence on videonews is pretty reasonable. I have bought many
things myself on the basis of press releases put out on videonews.

To subscribe to the latter: send message to majordomo@lists.berkeley.edu
Leave the subject line blank
In body of message type: subscribe videonews

If you want your videonews in digested form, do the above, but in body, type:
subscribe videonews-digest

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
