Hi, Jessica. Apparently I just missed meeting you at ALA. I arrived at Randy Pittman's booth just after you had left.

We were desperate for the Eyes on the Prize to become availabale in DVD since one of our VHS had been lost. When they did come out, I bought two sets! They are in such demand. I had checked with Amazon, Alibris, etc, including Ebay and people were asking in the neighborhood of $400 for the set.

BTW, I am a Red Sox fan (being a native of Boston originally). My dad passed away in December at the age of 92 but he had lived long enough to see the Sox beat "the goddamn Yankees" at least once! His other wish was to see George W out of the White House.

Well the DVD is still not in the retail market so the VHS set could be sold on eBay for $50 to $100. Less than it used to be but
Not bad for VHS

Wow, you could have sold those for a pretty penny a few months ago! We finally bought two sets on DVD when it was released. Thank you Ford Foundation, etc for the support in getting this set available again.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
