I just spent 2 weeks in DC at an Archives training, and found it a small challenge to find good and reasonable dining. Toward the end I found a Burmese restaurant called Burma (best to Google it for the address) it is in Chinatown, so a short distance from the Mall. The portions are very large and can be shared. Not necessarily spicy. Very tasty.

If in Adams Morgan, almost any Ethiopian restaurant is nice, and there is a quite wonderful Amsterdam style felafel place right on the main drag, name escapes me but you will find it walking around.

Best suggestion for foodies: use Chowhound.com and go to the Washington DC page.. there you can search the archive per neighborhood location, ethnicity, price, etc.

Have fun!

A group of my co-workers will be meeting up for dinner at ALA on
Saturday, and are stumped for ideas. It struck me that there are many
regular conference-goers on the list , as well as plenty of bon
viviants, and that you might have some good ideas.

Any suggestions?

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
