Well I don=B9t know what films they wanted to show and it might have been too
expensive but I wonder if they even checked the prices.
I don=B9t know if this was sort of generic entertainment type thing or geared
to specific theme but one frustrating thing is that film showings in genera=
l
have been so devalued in campuses. Obviously because folks can now go to th=
e
store or netflix or on demand cable it is not the rarity it was but
it is a shame students and faculty by and large no longer think of film
showings as an event like a speaker, or music performance etc. Something
worth
paying for and worth seeing in a group setting.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
