Hi Video Librarian Collective,

Does anyone have any experience with the Venmill Industries' disc repair
machines? I am considering the VMI 3500 model. I like the idea that
they don't remove layers of the discs, but just kind of smooth
everything out. Sounds like this would allow the discs to last longer.
I have heard from a couple libraries that have this machine and really
like it. Anyone else have any troubles or concerns with them?

Thanks in advance. I really appreciate your input.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
