Dear Videolib subscriber,

I am writing to you now because, based upon some initial (and helpful)
feedback from several early respondents, we have refined and now posted
online on the web our survey on the digital distribution of non-theatrical
video. We hope you will be able to take the time to participate.

This is a joint project of four companies: Bullfrog Films, California
Newsreel, First Run/ Icarus Films, and Women Make Movies, who have come
together to form a consortium (the Independent Film Distributors' Licensing
Consortium) with the objective of constructing a common approach to the
delivery of digital content to educational institutions, colleges,
universities, libraries and schools.

The Consortium's first step in constructing this common approach is to ask
for as much input as possible from our customers on the key issues relating
to the licensing, delivery, and usage of digital video.

Depending on your experience with digital delivery, the survey which our
consultant Robin Vachal has developed, will either be 4, 16, 24, or 31
questions and take you between 5-15 minutes to complete. You can exit the
survey at any time. Your answers will be saved if you would like to return
at a later time.

You will find the survey at the following address:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=411573343986

I hope you will be able to take the time to participate, and help shape our
common "digital future"!

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Miller
For the Independent Film Distributors'
Licensing Consortium

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
