Sounds a lot like the executive decision made here 30+ years ago to weed a
16mm collection by discarding everything older than an arbitrarily selected
production/copyright date. We were still purchasing 16mm at that time, so
format change was not the deciding factor. Somehow the director managed to
salvage some of the titles that did not need to go, but we still lost titles
that would have seen many more circs.
