[Videolib] video cataloging query

I am posting this from another list at Rachel's request. You can reply
to her at the e-mail below.

Just thought I'd see if anyone has expertise in this area and can give
some
advice...

My husband's company does video production, among other things. They
currently have a library of tapes (a few hundred) that aren't cataloged
so
well. They want to barcode and catalog them, but need something
specifically
designed for media (eg., describing each tape by cuts: this content is
at
:30, this is at 1:25, etc.). Is there a commercial or open source
product
out there that wouldn't be overkill for their needs, or should they
just do
it themselves?

I showed him librarything but it's not robust
enough for their needs -- they ideally would like separate fields for
the
different time stamps they index for each tape.

Thanks!

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
