Having recently taken over responsibility for our media collection,
I find myself very much out of my element. I am hoping that folks
would be willing share any resources (books, articles, websites)
that are a must for new media librarians to read and explore. I'm
also wondering if anyone would be willing to serve as a mentor or
at least give some general direction about the field (off the list.)

Many thanks for any help,
Amy Stewart-Mailhiot

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
