Attorney Arnie Lutzker, who is featured in the Copyright Compliance Series,
has many years of legal copyright experience and alerted viewers to expect
many of the changes now taking place. When I emailed him today about these
new developments mentioned, he commented that he was glad he had provided
this "look to the future" section in the programs, which were released in
March; also he agreed that "developments will lead to more updates in the
future," which is something we plan to do in 2007. Still, the 10-part series
provides a vast amount of timely legal information that the vast majority of
academics need to address.

Law - links to "Copyright Compliance" DVDs, Videos and Streaming Files

Unless these programs have been revised in the past two weeks they do
not address the question being asked. New exemptions were announced
on Nov.22, 2006.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
