Happy Friday!

I'll try not to be so chatty and get to the point.

Broad Purpose: I need to find a comparable mission/vision statement for
a multipurpose Media unit which includes: processing and circulating
Media, Reserves, Newspapers & Periodicals. =20

Narrower Purpose: the mission/vision statement also addresses
programming or some form of instructional support using media related
resources.

I would greatly appreciate it if you were to reply to me offline, or
point me to several university/college web pages.

This is what I have so far for my own institution, but perhaps there are
areas that I'm overlooking.

IUB Libraries Mission Statement:
To support and strengthen teaching, learning and research by providing
the collections, services, and environments that lead to intellectual
discovery.

The Kent Cooper Rooms Services (KCRS) is a unit of the Information
Commons Undergraduate Services Department. The KCRS supports the
academic needs and intellectual growth of Indiana University Bloomington
students as well as the instructional and research needs of the faculty
by:
* Maintaining a high quality and unique media collection including
contemporary and classic documentary and feature films.=20
1 Providing instructional support through print and media
course reserve services and instructional media and coordinating film
screenings for courses.
2 Providing access to current periodicals, magazines,
journals, and newspapers from around the nation and world.
3 Promoting media literacy and critical thinking through
collaborative programs with faculty and subject area librarians.
4 Supporting student coursework by providing access to
media equipment and resources including equipment.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition,bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries,educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
