START MOBILE, the world's premier cell phone art
gallery, today announced an exclusive global mobile
content partnership with MICROCINEMA INTERNATIONAL.
Since its founding in 1996, MICROCINEMA
INTERNATIONAL has showcased the short film, video,
and digital works of over 2000 artists from 43
countries, and its catalogue of art film + video,
music-driven visuals, and ambient media is
unrivaled. Artists featured in the Microcinema
catalogue include William Wegman, Hal Hartley, Bill
Plympton, Joanna Priestely, Chel White, Lynn
Hershman-Leeson, and many others.

START MOBILE will distribute this unique and
compelling content through its global network of
several hundred carriers, MVNOs, D2C portals, and
mobile content aggregators.

"The world's largest media companies are solidifying
their mobile content offerings by spending hundreds
of millions of dollars acquiring the world's premier
bikini babe wallpapers, SMS toilet humor, and
yodeling amphibian ringtones," according to START
MOBILE founder John Doffing. "Our approach is
decidedly different."

"Over the last decade, MICROCINEMA INTERNATIONAL has
brought thousands of hours of groundbreaking film +
video art to the world - through global exhibitions
and traditional distribution," according to
MICROCINEMA INTERNATIONAL founder Joel S. Bachar.
"START MOBILE clearly understands that the mobile
medium is not simply another channel to sell more
stuff, but is a historically unprecedented new
medium for the ownership, appreciation, and viewing
of moving image ART."
