Folks,
We're about the take the plunge and buy a disc repair machine for our
system. The Scholtz article in LJ (15 May 04) was helpful and I have the
literature from the manufacturers. From past list discussion it appears
that many of you have either the RTI DiscChek ECO Junior or the
Azuradisc 1600 and those are the models within the price range of my
library.
I would appreciate any information you would like to share, things that
won't be in the brochures or articles (i.e., ease of use, actual time to
maintain the unit, quality of service from the manufacturer for
repairs/problems, noise, waste, etc.)
Thanks,
John

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
