Speaking of ebooks, I just got email from Sony announcing that their
reader is finally available. I won't post the impossibly long URL here,
but if you go to http://www.sonystyle.com/ and then select the "MP3 and
Portable Electronics" menu and then "Portable Reader," you'll see it.

Yet another device that uses a proprietary format! (Although it will
also handle PDF and Word files.) I'm thinking of getting one for our
library...just so we'll be "cutting edge." :) It's always good to know
what's happening in the world of info technology.

--=__PartCAEE9813.0__=-- VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
